"I design and make each item with great care and attention to detail to ensure it is beautiful and the highest quality. I start by sketching an idea on paper. I then select the colors of glass, cut the glass to size and shape with a variety of glass-cutting tools, assemble/decorate the piece and fire it in one of my kilns. Pieces are often fired to different temperatures or fired multiple times to get the right look. They are then finished by adding ribbon, copper wire, a metal stake, etc. so they are ready to hang or display." Kristi Thorndike-Kent
